How to Unlock FCA SGW by Launch X431 Elite 2.0 FGC OBD2 Scanner?
LAUNCH X431 Elite 2.0 FGC can unlock SGW (Security Gateway) for FCA vehicles after 2017+ without a 12+8 cable. Check the step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Add Tool SN to AutoAuth Website
Visit the AutoAuth website to register or log in:
North America: https://webapp.autoauth.com/
Europe: https://www.technicalinformation.fiat.com
After logging in, add your tool information:
Manufacturer: Launch
Tool Model: Others
Serial Number: Enter the SN of the X431 Elite 2.0.
Click "Add Tool."
Step 2: Unlock FCA SGW Using X431 Elite 2.0 FGC
1.Initiate Diagnosis:
Select: Diagnose > Chrysler > Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge software (e.g., V34.85) > 16 PIN Connector > Automatically Search.
2.Check for Other OBD Communication Components:
If any additional OBD communication components are installed, remove them before proceeding.
3.Confirm Vehicle Information:
Verify the details such as VIN, model year, body style, and engine.
4.Unlock SGW:
When prompted, select “Yes” to unlock the SGW. Without unlocking, the diagnostic software only supports basic functions such as “Version Information,” “Read DTC,” and “Read Data Stream.”
5.Choose Region and Authenticate:
Select your region (e.g., North America or Europe).
Enter the AutoAuth username and password.
Click “OK” and wait for the unlocking process to complete.
6.Successful Unlock Notification:
Once the SGW is successfully unlocked, the Launch X431 Creader Elite 2.0 FGC OBD2 Scanner will display: “SGW (Security Gateway) Has Been Unlocked Successfully.”
After unlocking the SGW, you can access advanced diagnostic functions, including:
Version Information
Read Fault Code
Clear Fault Code
Read Data Stream
Actuation Test
Read Config
Special Functions
