How to Restore the Online Programming Menu on Launch X431 Pro5 for BMW X5?

Issue:
The Online Programming menu is missing or unavailable when diagnosing a BMW X5 with the Launch X431 Pro5.



Solution Steps:
1. Check Software & Vehicle Coverage
Ensure your X-431 Pro5 has the latest BMW software package installed.
Verify that Online Programming is supported for your BMW X5 model year.

2. Enable Online Programming in Configuration File
If the menu is missing due to disabled settings, manually enable it:

• Connect X-431 Pro5 to a computer:

Use a USB cable and select Media Device (MTP) mode

 

• Locate the Config File:

Navigate to: Internal Storage > cnlaunch > X431Pro5 > assets > StdCfg.ini 



 

• Modify the File:

Open StdCfg.ini in a text editor.
Find and change these values:
OnlineFlash=0 → OnlineFlash=1 
Flash=0 → Flash=1 
Save the file without altering other content.
